About CaliforniaWarn
CaliforniaWarn is an independent tracker of WARN Act layoff notices filed in California. We are not affiliated with or endorsed by the State of California or any government agency.
What we do
Every day, California employers file layoff notices with the Employment Development Department (EDD) under the WARN Act. These filings are public record, but they're buried in spreadsheets that are difficult to search and understand.
We take that data, organize it by company and city, and present it in a way that's useful for the people who need it most: workers who just learned they may be losing their jobs.
Why this exists
When you find out your job is being eliminated, the first thing most people do is search for their company's name plus "layoffs." We want CaliforniaWarn to be what they find: a clear, factual summary of the filing, along with practical resources to help them through the transition.
No paywalls on public data. No scare tactics. Just the information you need, presented honestly.
The Talent Network
We also run a free Talent Network for displaced workers. When you join, your professional profile becomes visible to verified recruiters who are actively hiring. It's a simple idea: connect people who need jobs with people who have jobs to fill.
We will never charge displaced workers for this service.
Data source
All layoff data comes directly from WARN Act filings published by the California Employment Development Department. We download and process new filings daily.
