CaliforniaWarn ("we," "us," or "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains how we collect, use, and share your information when you use our Service.
2. Information We Collect
Talent Network Profile Data. When you voluntarily join the Talent Network, we collect the information you provide: your name, email address, job title, and employer. We may also collect optional information such as phone number, LinkedIn URL, department, years of experience, and security clearance level.
Payment Information. For paid products (such as compliance templates), payments are processed through Stripe. We do not store credit card information.
Usage Data. We automatically collect standard log data: IP address, browser type, pages viewed, and referral sources. This data is used for analytics and security monitoring.
Public Data. The layoff data displayed on the Service is compiled from publicly available California WARN Act filings. This is public record and is not collected from users.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use your information to:
- Provide and maintain the Service
- Operate the Talent Network (connecting your profile with verified recruiters)
- Process payments for paid products
- Send you relevant resources and career information (if you opted in through the Talent Network)
- Improve the Service through analytics
- Detect and prevent fraud or abuse
4. How We Share Your Information
Talent Network participants: If you join the Talent Network, your professional profile (name, job title, employer, and any optional information you provided) may be shared with verified third-party recruiters. This is the core purpose of the Talent Network and requires your explicit consent at the time of submission.
Service providers: We use trusted third parties for hosting (Cloudflare), payment processing (Stripe), and data storage (Airtable). These providers are contractually obligated to protect your data.
Legal compliance: We may disclose information when required by law, court order, or government regulation.
We do not sell your personal information for advertising purposes.
5. California Privacy Rights (CCPA)
If you are a California resident, you have the following rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act:
- Right to know what personal information we collect and how it is used
- Right to delete your personal information (we will process deletion requests within 45 days)
- Right to opt out of the sharing of your personal information with recruiters
- Right to non-discrimination for exercising your privacy rights

6. Data Retention
Talent Network profiles are retained for 12 months from the date of your layoff filing, after which they are automatically archived. You may request earlier deletion at any time.
Usage data and analytics are retained for up to 12 months for operational purposes.
7. Data Security
We use industry-standard security measures including encrypted data transmission (HTTPS/TLS), secure data storage, and restricted access controls. No method of electronic storage is 100% secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your information.
8. Cookies
We use essential cookies for site functionality. We do not use third-party advertising cookies. You can control cookie preferences through your browser settings.
9. Children's Privacy
The Service is not intended for individuals under 18. We do not knowingly collect information from children.

We may update this policy from time to time. Changes are effective upon posting. We will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.
