Terms of Service
Last updated: August 2026
1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using CaliforniaWarn (the "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
2. Description of Service
CaliforniaWarn provides informational content compiled from publicly available California WARN Act filings published by the California Employment Development Department (EDD). The Service is a lookup tool. It has no accounts, no profiles, and no sign-up.
The Service is provided for informational purposes only. It does not constitute legal advice, employment advice, financial advice, or any other form of professional advice.
3. Nature of Data
All layoff data displayed on the Service is derived from official WARN Act notices filed with the State of California. This information is public record and is republished here for convenience.
Summary and contextual text on company and county pages is generated automatically from the filing data itself. It is background context, not insider information, and is not guaranteed to be accurate. Where the state's own published file contains conflicting dates, we label the conflict rather than resolve it.
4. Paid Products
The Service may offer paid products such as compliance templates. Payments are processed securely through Stripe. Due to the digital nature of these products, all sales are final and non-refundable.
5. Permitted Use
Access to the Service is granted for personal or internal business use only. You may not:
- Resell, redistribute, or sublicense access to the Service or its data
- Use automated tools to extract or copy data from the Service
- Use the Service for any unlawful or fraudulent purpose
6. Disclaimer of Warranties
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. We do not warrant that the Service will be error-free, uninterrupted, or that data will be accurate or complete.
7. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, CALIFORNIAWARN SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING FROM USE OF THE SERVICE.
8. Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by the laws of the State of California. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located in California.
9. Changes to Terms
We may modify these Terms at any time. Changes are effective immediately upon posting. Your continued use of the Service constitutes acceptance.
